Counselling

Neurofeedback training focuses on helping you think more clearly, gain purpose & lead a better standard of life. Our therapist will support you to find solutions with healthy coping skills. You will be supported by therapists who can offer you a safe, empathic and authentic service where your emotions can be fully explored and accepted.

What is Neurofeedback Training?

Neurofeedback is a comprehensive brain training system that promotes healthy brain function. It started in research settings and was then further developed for use by health care professionals to help people with a range of difficulties.

The way these difficulties are seen is not through labels such as OCD, PTSD or ADHD – to name but a few. Instead, our job is to understand the challenges the person is presenting with, link the symptoms to the brain’s control centres, and devise a training plan to help people train their brains to regulate these areas better.

Understanding?

There are two main types of neurofeedback systems. The first one is ‘classical’ neurofeedback, where you receive information on your brain in real-time and learn to retrain your brain waves effectively through trial and error. The other type gives a very small input that nudges the brain out of its fixed way of working; the input is one three-hundredth the power of holding a mobile phone to your ear. Our team will use one or both of these systems depending on your needs.

All of this science can sound clinical, but the basis for any kind of therapy and neurofeedback training is to develop a relationship based on acceptance, curiosity and empathy.

Therapy?

We offer to talk person-centred therapy with neurofeedback at its core. Through this support, you can gain a clearer understanding of yourself and make healthier, more positive choices in your life in ways that are most suited to you. It is an opportunity to focus on yourself and use it how you want to.
